According to Puck, Tom Cruise is very frustrated about the IMAX exclusivity of “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning” due to Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer. Cruise has been complaining to Paramount executives and calling studio and theater executives to secure more premium screens. The film was made for IMAX and Dolby theaters but will have a limited run in IMAX.
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is directed by Christopher McQuarrie, who co-wrote the screenplay with Erik Jendresen. According to the film’s plot, Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and the IMF team must track down a terrifying new weapon that threatens all of humanity if it falls into the wrong hands. With control of the future and the fate of the world at stake, a deadly race around the globe begins. Confronted by a mysterious, all-powerful enemy, Ethan is forced to consider that nothing can matter more than the mission — not even the lives of those he cares about most.
The film also stars Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Esai Morales, Vanessa Kirby, Pom Klementieff, and Henry Czerny.
The film is produced by Tom Cruise and Christopher McQuarrie, with David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Tommy Gormley, Chris Brock, and Susan E. Novick serving as executive producers.
‘Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One’ is set to be released in the United States on July 12, 2023, by Paramount Pictures. Fans can also look forward to the sequel, ‘Dead Reckoning Part Two,’ which is scheduled for release on June 28, 2024. The ticket sales start on Wednesday, June 14, 2023.
