Mubi has acquired the rights to Sofia Coppola‘s ‘Priscilla‘ in multiple regions prior to its premiere at the 80th Venice International Film Festival. The film’s distribution rights will cover the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Latin America, Benelux, and Turkey. After its debut at the Venice International Film Festival in September 2023, the film will hit theaters in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Latin America, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Also, the North American premiere is scheduled for October 6, 2023, at the New York Film Festival.
According to the film’s official synopsis from A24, When teenage Priscilla Beaulieu meets Elvis Presley at a party, the man who is already a meteoric rock-and-roll superstar becomes someone entirely unexpected in private moments: a thrilling crush, an ally in loneliness, a gentle best friend. Through Priscilla’s eyes, Sofia Coppola tells the unseen side of a great American myth in Elvis and Priscilla’s long courtship and turbulent marriage, from a German army base to his dream-world estate at Graceland, in this deeply felt and ravishingly detailed portrait of love, fantasy, and fame.

The film stars Cailee Spaeny as Priscilla Presley, Jacob Elordi as Elvis Presley, Dagmara Domińczyk, Raine Monroe Boland and Emily Mitchell as Lisa Marie Presley, Jorja Cadence as Patsy Presley, Rodrigo Fernandez-Stoll as Alan “Hog Ears” Fortas, and, Luke Humphrey as Terry West.

The film will be distributed in the United States by A24 and in Italy by Vision Distribution. For the rest of the world, distribution will be handled by Stage 6 Films/Sony Pictures Releasing International.
