Netflix has dropped the first teaser for Netflix’s ‘The Witcher‘ Season 4, introducing Liam Hemsworth as the new Geralt of Rivia, replacing Henry Cavill from season 3. Watch the teaser below.
The above teaser shows Hemsworth’s Geralt with his signature medallion as he treks across dim, murky land, turning around to face the mysterious squelch of something behind him.
Fans of Cavill’s Geralt have been trolling Hemsworth, believing he is not fit to play the iconic character. What are your thoughts on this? Recently, some leaked images from the set have been revealed, featuring Hemsworth in fighting scenes with Mahesh Jadu‘s Vilgefortz. Also, Anya Chalotra‘s Yennefer can be spotted on the set.
Filming is currently happening in the UK. Recently, Netflix renewed the show for a fifth and final season, confirming that both Seasons 4 and 5 are being shot back-to-back.
Seasons 4 and 5 will cover Sapkowski’s three remaining books: Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow, and Lady of the Lake. This will complete the adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski’s series.
In a statement, creator and showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich said, “It is with huge pride that we begin shooting our penultimate season of The Witcher with a stellar cast, including some exciting new additions, led by Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia.” Schmidt Hissrich added, “We’re thrilled to be able to bring Andrzej Sapkowski’s books to an epic and satisfying conclusion. It wouldn’t be our show if we didn’t push our family of characters to their absolute limit. Stay tuned to see how the story ends.”
Recently, Laurence Fishburne has been cast as Regis, a world-wise barber-surgeon with a mysterious past, Season 4. Fishburne told Netflix “I’m very excited to be joining the cast and look forward to exploring the wondrous world of The Witcher.”
‘The Witcher’ Season 4 is scheduled to premiere on Netflix in 2024.
