A James Bond video game is in the works for the Nintendo Switch 2.
During the Nintendo Direct announcement, IO Interactive revealed multiple games for the console. First, Hitman: World of Assassination will be a launch title for the Switch 2 in June. Also, a brand-new James Bond game, featuring an original story, is also coming to the console at a later date.
On the official website of IO Interactive, it was revealed that “Project 007 (working title) is a brand-new James Bond video game to be developed and published by IO Interactive.”

Featuring a wholly original Bond story, players will step into the shoes of the world’s favorite Secret Agent to earn their 00 status in the very first James Bond origin story.
IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak told Edge (Issue 391) (via GamesRadar) that the James Bond game Project 007 will be ‘the ultimate spycraft fantasy.’ It will have a tone closer to Daniel Craig’s portrayal than Roger Moore’s and will offer a more scripted experience compared to the Hitman trilogy.
Abrak said, “The few other breadcrumbs we’re able to pick up in the office suggest a tone closer to Daniel Craig than Roger Moore, and perhaps a more scripted experience than Hitman’s freeform jaunts.” Abrak added, “It’s been pitched as ‘the ultimate spycraft fantasy,’ which suggests gadgets – and perhaps a step away from the murderous objectives of Agent 47.”
The James Bond game will be released on Switch 2 consoles, but no release date has been revealed yet.
