Following the announcement of the new ‘Jurassic World‘ movie, the release date has been confirmed. The script is written by original ‘Jurassic Park‘ writer David Koepp, and Gareth Edwards is set to direct.
According to reports, the film offers “a completely fresh take on a Jurassic era,” with no expectations for the return of Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, or original trilogy actors Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern, and Sam Neill.
The film will be executive produced by Steven Spielberg through Amblin Entertainment, with Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley producing. Kelly McCormick will also produce through 87North. Sara Scott, Executive Vice President of Production Development, and Jacqueline Garell, Creative Executive of Production Development, will oversee the project for the Studio.
The Jurassic franchise is a vital part of Universal’s film history. The 1993 original movie, which redefined special effects, has had a lasting impact on pop culture. Over three decades, six movies in the franchise have earned over $6 billion worldwide.
The film will hit theaters on July 2, 2025, by Universal Pictures.
For the first time ever, in July 2025, we’ll experience a unique cinematic lineup: a Jurassic movie on July 2, a DC movie (‘Superman: Legacy‘) on July 11, and a Marvel Studios movie (‘Thunderbolts‘) on July 25.
