Marvel Studios has finally revealed Reed Richards’ stretching powers in the newly released trailer for Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
In the trailer, Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards is seen using his stretching powers during a building collapse. When Galactus (Ralph Ineson) appears on Earth, he begins destroying the planet—just as Silver Surfer (Julia Garner) had warned. Watch it below.
According to fan reactions, Pascal’s Reed Richards stretching powers are a cooler, more comic-accurate version. Marvel has done a great job with the CGI for Mister Fantastic.
In the image below, you can see a world being destroyed as the Fantastic Four’s spaceship moves into outer space. It seems Galactus has succeeded in his plan by destroying the Fantastic Four’s planet.

Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Reed Richards / Mister Fantastic (Pascal), Sue Storm / Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm / Human Torch (Joseph Quinn), and Ben Grimm / The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet.
Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet — and everyone on it — weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.
The film also stars Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles.
