Insomniac Games is actively developing Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 and aiming for a 2028 launch on PS5.
Recently, Yuri Lowenthal, the voice actor for Peter Parker in Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man series, revealed that Peter will still play a key role in Spider-Man 3.
At the end of Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker steps back from active crime-fighting—leaving Miles Morales in charge—while focusing on his personal life and the Emily-May Foundation. Lowenthal confirmed that Peter won’t be sidelined—and despite stepping down—he will still be involved in shaping Miles’ journey.

Speaking to The Direct at MultiCon—held as a benefit for L.A. wildfire recovery on February 22—Lowenthal said, ‘There are very few things that I can say about this game, but you have somehow landed on the one thing that I can answer, and that’s that, yes, Peter is not gone.’
Lowenthal added, ‘[Peter] will be a part of the next game, and he won’t be relegated to the couch, I promise.’

Peter Parker’s break from being Spider-Man was always meant to be temporary. Spider-Man 3 may begin with Miles Morales as the only hero protecting New York—however, a new villain or mystery could force Peter back into action. Norman Osborn’s mention of the “G-serum” suggests that Green Goblin might appear in the next game. Since Peter has strong ties to the Osborn family—he may have no choice but to step in and stop Norman’s plans.
Meanwhile, Spider-Man 2’s post-credit scene introduced Cindy Moon—who, in the comics, becomes the superhero Silk, who was bitten by the same radioactive spider that gave Peter his powers—setting up her transformation. There are rumors that Cindy will become Silk in Spider-Man 3 and join Peter and Miles as a playable character. If this happens, fans can play three different Spider-heroes, each having unique abilities, upgrades, and missions.
According to reports, Insomniac Games is considering splitting Spider-Man 3 into two parts and plans to release it on PS5 in 2028.
