Rachel Zegler is reportedly set to star in a biopic about singer Gloria Estefan, which is being developed by Sony Pictures.
According to insider Daniel Richtman in a recent Patreon post, Lissette Feliciano (Women Is Losers) will write and direct the film. The movie is titled On Your Feet.
Estefan is a famous Cuban-American singer, songwriter, and actress—known as the “Queen of Latin Pop.” She became famous with Miami Sound Machine—sold over 100 million records—won 7 Grammy Awards—and received the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Her life inspired the Broadway musical On Your Feet!—she also helped open doors for Latin artists in music and overcame a serious accident to continue her successful career.
Zegler is a Golden Globe Award winner, recently seen in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Her upcoming disaster comedy Y2K will hit theaters on December 6, 2024, and her live-action Snow White film is currently in post-production, set to release on March 21, 2025.
Feliciano is a filmmaker and writer, known for making films like Women Is Losers, which focus on issues of gender, race, and class. She is the founder of Look at the Moon Pictures.
