Rachel Zegler, previously rumored for the role of Gina Cabot in ‘Paddington in Peru,’ is no longer part of the film and will be replaced due to strikes.
Production of ‘Paddington in Peru’ Underway, with Rachel Zegler Role Delayed by Strike
According to reports, ‘Paddington in Peru’ is currently in production in the UK and is set to conclude filming in mid-October 2023. Zegler was initially cast in June 2023, but her role couldn’t be finalized due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.
The film is directed by Dougal Wilson and written by Mark Burton, Jon Foster, and James Lamout, with a story by Paul King, Simon Farnaby, and Burton. It’s based on the Paddington Bear stories by Michael Bond and is meant to be the third installment in the Paddington film series, following ‘Paddington 2’ (2017).
‘Paddington in Peru’ stars Hugh Bonneville as Henry Brown, Emily Mortimer as Mary Brown, Madeleine Harris as Judy Brown, Samuel Joslin as Jonathan “J-Dog” Brown, Julie Walters as Mrs. Bird, Jim Broadbent as Samuel Gruber, Olivia Colman as The Reverend Mother, and Antonio Banderas as Hunter Cabot. Additionally, the film includes the voices of Ben Whishaw as Paddington Brown and Imelda Staunton as Aunt Lucy.
‘Paddington in Peru’ currently does not have a confirmed release date; it is “To Be Announced” (TBA).
