‘Red One‘ starring Dwayne Johnson, Chris Evans, and J.K. Simmons in an action-adventure Christmas film is set for a theatrical release on November 15, 2024, before its Prime Video release.
Directed by Jake Kasdan and scripted by Chris Morgan, it is based on an original story by Hiram Garcia. In the film, Johnson stars as Callum Drift, Evans as Jack O’Malley, with Kiernan Shipka, Lucy Liu as Jacqueline Frost, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Simmons as Santa Claus, Nick Kroll, Kristofer Hivju as Krampus, Wesley Kimmel, and Bonnie Hunt as Mrs. Claus. Jenna Kanell also features in the cast.

Last year on Instagram, Johnson described Red One: “Our movie is a big, fun, action-packed and fresh new take on Christmas. Think JUMANJI meets MIRACLE ON 34TH ST meets HOBBS & SHAW with a dash of HARRY POTTER and sprinkled on top with my all-time favorite Christmas movie, ITS A WONDERFUL LIFE…”
The film is produced by Johnson, Hiram Garcia, Dany Garcia, Jake Kasdan, Melvin Mar, and Chris Morgan. Warner Bros. Pictures is handling international distribution in its deal with Amazon MGM Studios.
Amazon MGM Studios plans to release ‘Red One’ in theaters on November 15, strategically timed for the holiday season. The film, with strong test scores, will compete with other releases like Warner Bros.’ ‘Alto Knights‘ and Lionsgate and Kingdom Story’s ‘The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.’
