Ryan Coogler’s upcoming period vampire thriller starring Michael B. Jordan has officially wrapped filming, as confirmed by the film’s DOP, Autumn Durald Arkapaw.
On Instagram, Arkapaw shared the wrap news and posted an image of the crew members. She wrote, “One of the best experiences of my career. Thank you as always, Mr. Coogler. And thank you to the best camera team around, Panavision, Kodak Motion Picture Film, and IMAX. Get ready for it.” See the image below.
The film is described as a period thriller centered on vampires, with Jordan portraying twins. Coogler has both written the script and will direct the movie.
Filming started in April 2024 in New Orleans with the working title “Grilled Cheese.” Some images featuring Jordan were leaked from the set, which you can check out below.
The supernatural thriller is set in the Jim Crow South and features a star-studded cast including Jordan, Jayme Lawson, Wunmi Mosaku, Delroy Lindo, Omar Benson Miller, Hailee Steinfeld, Li Jun Li, Jack O’Connell, Lola Kirke, Yao, Miles Caton, Peter Dreimanis, and Christian Robinson.
Produced by Coogler, Zinzi Coogler, and Sev Ohanian via Proximity Media, the film features composer Ludwig Göransson, along with executive producers Rebecca Cho and Will Greenfield. Göransson, known for his collaboration with Coogler and his Oscar-winning work on ‘Black Panther,’ also received an Oscar for his score on Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer.’
The vampire thriller is scheduled to hit theaters and IMAX on March 7, 2025, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
