Ryan Reynolds has officially spoiled an Infinity Stone detail from Marvel’s ‘Deadpool & Wolverine‘ ahead of its release. On Instagram, Reynolds shared the first look at Cassandra Nova’s Sling Ring in the film — the ring contains the Reality Stone and the Time Stone. The Reality Stone can manipulate reality and transform matter, while the Time Stone grants control over time — including time travel and future sight.
We all know that the Sling Ring is associated with Doctor Strange and the sorcerers of Kamar-Taj in the MCU, which allows them to create portals for instant travel through the multiverse between locations. Cassandra now has the power to control time and reality. How will Deadpool and Wolverine deal with her? After the movie’s release, we’ll find out.
In the June/July issue of Harper’s Bazaar, Reynolds teases Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ saying, “Corrin’s Cassandra is a mix of mischief, danger, and unpredictability—from their first scene onward, we understand the villain enough to know why she’s motivated to oppose our heroes. And that’s because Emma is so fuc**** excellent at humanizing even the most chaotic lines. The only thing we love more than hating a villain is loving one. And we love Emma’s Cassandra Nova from the jump.”
Hugh Jackman, who returns as Wolverine, said, “Emma has an ability to so subtly change—to turn on a dime.” Jackman added, “There was an effortlessness, a sense of danger.”
‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is directed by Shawn Levy, the film stars Reynolds as Wade Wilson/Deadpool, alongside Jackman as Wolverine, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle, Stefan Kapičić as Piotr Rasputin/Colossus, Rob Delaney as Peter, Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Jennifer Garner as Elektra, and new additions Corrin, Tyler Mane as Sabretooth, and Matthew Macfadyen. The script is penned by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Zeb Wells, Reynolds, and Levy.
