What is ‘Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die’ About?
‘Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die’ marks Verbinski’s return to directing after an eight-year absence. The action-adventure film, centered on a “man from the future” (Rockwell) who arrives at a Los Angeles diner, is produced by Constantin Film, known for the Resident Evil franchise. The story revolves around the protagonist recruiting a specific group of disgruntled patrons (Richardson, Peña, Beetz, Temple) for a one-night, six-block quest to save the world from a rogue artificial intelligence.
The filming is set to begin later this year in Cape Town, South Africa. Robert Kulzer produces for Constantin, while Verbinski’s Blind Wink Productions, casting director Chamian, and Erwin Stoff, and Oly Obst from 3 Arts Entertainment also serve as producers. Executive producers include Oliver Berben from Constantin, as well as George Parra and Matthew Robinson. Additional casting is underway, with Denise Chamian, known for her work on Top Gun: Maverick, overseeing the process.
North.five.six. is serving as an executive producer and managing worldwide distribution rights, launching sales at this week’s EFM in Berlin. CAA Media Finance and Gersh are co-representing the film’s domestic distribution rights.
Verbinski is renowned for his work on the Pirates franchise, Rango, The Ring remake, The Lone Ranger, and his last movie A Cure For Wellness, released in 2016.
