Sebastian Stan Spotted as Bucky Barnes on Marvel’s ‘Thunderbolts*’ Reshoots Set

Marvel’s Thunderbolts* reshoots are currently happening in Atlanta, Georgia. A new set image shows Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes during filming.

Could Marvel be adding more screen time for Stan’s Bucky? Fans sure hope so. The reshoots are expected to conclude by the end of December 2024.

Following the positive test screening of Thunderbolts*, the film reportedly has a tone similar to Captain America: The Winter Soldier, with standout action scenes. However, Stan’s Bucky Barnes has limited screen time. The film begins with Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) on a mission, and she is reportedly the main character. There are scenes set in the Red Room, and Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) has one of the best action sequences in the film.

Directed by Jake Schreier and stars Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Pugh as Yelena Belova, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S. Agent, Olga Kurylenko as Antonia Dreykov/Taskmaster, Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, John-Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Ford as President Thaddeus Ross, Lewis Pullman as Sentry, and Geraldine Viswanathan as Erin. Laurence Fishburne and Rachel Weisz are confirmed to reprise their roles as scientist Bill Foster and spy Melina Vostakov.

Marvel Studios and a crew of indie veterans who sold out present Thunderbolts*, an irreverent team-up featuring depressed assassin Yelena Belova (Pugh) alongside the MCU’s least anticipated band of misfits.

Thunderbolts* will hit theaters on May 2, 2025, in IMAX, RealD 3D, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, Cinemark XD, and premium screens worldwide.
