Exclusive: Selena Gomez and Jordan Peele are reportedly teaming up to develop a thrilling series adaptation of Sean Lewis’ graphic novel “Coyotes” for Prime Video.
According to Film Updates, Gomez will serve as an executive producer on the project, while Peele will be involved through his production company, Monkeypaw Productions. The series is reportedly in the early stages of development.
“Coyotes,” originally published by Image Comics and illustrated by Caitlin Yarsky, is a gripping story described as a mix of “Kill Bill” and “The Last of Us.” Set in the City of Lost Girls, a border town in the desert, the story revolves around Officer Frank Coffey, who becomes determined to unravel the mystery surrounding a series of brutal killings. His path crosses with that of a young girl named Red, armed with a katana blade and on a mission to eliminate the werewolves responsible for terrorizing the border and preying on women.
Gomez will next be seen in the third season of the Hulu series “Only Murders in the Building” and is currently filming Jacques Audiard’s movie “Emilia Perez.” Also, Gomez is involved as a producer in a reboot of the 1984 romantic comedy “16 Candles” and a remake of the 1988 classic “Working Girl.”
Peele released his third feature film, “Nope,” in 2022. He is now working on his fourth feature, scheduled for release on December 25, 2024. Peele is also involved as a producer in an upcoming remake of “The People Under the Stairs” and a supernatural feature called “Sinkhole,” starring Issa Rae.
