Sonic the Hedgehog 3 had its world premiere on December 10, 2024, at the Riverside Building in County Hall, London. Following the premiere, the early reports are out, which is reportedly the best film of the trilogy.
From the coming reports, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 has multiple post-credits scenes—which tease that a fourth movie is already planned. According to reports:
“Sonic 3 is the best of the trilogy—largely due to Keanu Reeves as Shadow. Jim Carrey is as fun as ever, and the final act is crazy. Wish Sonic’s writing was better, and the first two acts were as good as the final act—but wow, the post-credits are insane.”

“Sonic the Hedgehog 3 nears perfection and is easily the best film of the trilogy. While the first film felt like it was a kids’ film, this third installment feels like it’s aimed at young adults with its story and tone—although the jokes never fail to find their place for the younger audience.
Keanu Reeves is the perfect casting for Shadow, who is handled with great care and given a story that’s emotional and powerful. Jim Carrey’s return turns the dial up on his charismatic and energetic characteristics. Ben Schwartz, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, and Idris Elba are an unstoppable trio, bringing the film together with their vocal performances.”

“It’s not often that each movie gets better in a trilogy, but Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is the best of the bunch. There’s action-packed goofiness aplenty, thanks to Jim Carrey pulling double duty, but what I didn’t expect was a surprisingly moving performance from Keanu Reeves and a third act that might make Sonic fans a little weepy-eyed. Also—there are two big post-credits scenes, so AVOID SPOILERS.”
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 had a runtime of 1 hour and 45 minutes (105 minutes). Directed by Jeff Fowler, with a screenplay by Pat Casey, Josh Miller, and John Whittington, based on a story by Casey and Miller. The film stars Schwartz as Sonic the Hedgehog, O’Shaughnessey as Miles “Tails” Prower, Keanu Reeves as Shadow the Hedgehog, and Elba as Knuckles the Echidna. The live-action cast includes James Marsden as Tom Wachowski, Carrey as Dr. Robotnik, Krysten Ritter as Captain Rockwell, Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski, Tom Butler as Commander Walters, Lee Majdoub as Agent Stone, Alyla Browne as Maria, James Wolk, Sofia Pernas, Cristo Fernández, and Jorma Taccone.
In Sonic 3, Sonic the Hedgehog returns to the big screen this holiday season for his most thrilling adventure yet. Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails reunite to face a powerful new adversary—Shadow, a mysterious villain with abilities unlike anything they’ve encountered before. Outmatched in every way, Team Sonic must form an unlikely alliance to stop Shadow and protect the planet.
