The filming for ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3‘ has wrapped, as confirmed by James Marsden.
James Marsden Confirmed ‘Sonic 3’ Wrap and His Return as Cyclops in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’
During an interview with The Playlist, Michael Keaton and Marsden appeared to promote their new crime thriller, ‘Knox Goes Away‘. Marsden was asked about the possibility of returning as Cyclops in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine‘.
Marsden replied, “We just wrapped [Sonic 3], actually. We were actually near the Deadpool stages up there in Pinewood. Yeah, this is a little bit of Pandora’s box.”
Filming began in November 2023 with actors and concluded in March 2024. Directed by Jeff Fowler from a screenplay by Pat Casey, Josh Miller, and John Whittington, the movie is based on the Sega video game series.
The film stars Ben Schwartz as Sonic the Hedgehog, Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Miles “Tails” Prower, and Idris Elba as Knuckles the Echidna. The live-action cast includes Marsden as Tom Wachowski, Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik, Krysten Ritter as Captain Rockwell, Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski, Tom Butler as Commander Walters, Lee Majdoub as Agent Stone, Alyla Browne as Maria, James Wolk, Sofia Pernas, Cristo Fernández, and Jorma Taccone. Shadow the Hedgehog is also set to make an appearance.
The first teaser trailer for ‘Sonic 3’ will be revealed soon, along with the film’s title tagline. The film serves as a sequel to ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ (2020) and ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’ (2022), continuing the storyline introduced in ‘Knuckles’ (2024).
‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3’ hits theaters on December 20, 2024, by Paramount Pictures.
