Sega’s ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3‘ first trailer is set to drop in August, as confirmed by insider Daniel Richtman in a Patreon post.
According to Daniel Richtman, the first official trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will be released by Paramount Pictures on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.
The third installment in the Sonic film franchise is directed by Jeff Fowler, with a screenplay by Pat Casey, Josh Miller, and John Whittington, based on a story by Casey and Miller. The film stars Ben Schwartz as Sonic the Hedgehog, Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Miles “Tails” Prower, Keanu Reeves as Shadow the Hedgehog, and Idris Elba as Knuckles the Echidna. The live-action cast includes James Marsden as Tom Wachowski, Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik, Krysten Ritter as Captain Rockwell, Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski, Tom Butler as Commander Walters, Lee Majdoub as Agent Stone, Alyla Browne as Maria, James Wolk, Sofia Pernas, Cristo Fernández, and Jorma Taccone. Filming began in November 2023 and concluded in March 2024.
According to the new logline for ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3,’ “The Black hedgehog shadow, who looks a lot like Sonic, is driven by anger and revenge.”
In a recent interview with Animation Scoop, director Fowler said, “Sonic 3 is a big movie, and it’s ambitious, and I think fans are going to absolutely love it. So fortunately Jim was into it and excited and was willing to come back.”
Most recently, Jakks Pacific merchandise has revealed new toy designs for Sonic, Shadow, Knuckles, Drone, and Buzz Bomber.
The film is produced by Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher, Toru Nakahara, and Hitoshi Okuno. It is a production of Sega Sammy Group, Original Film, Marza Animation Planet, and Blur Studio.
‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3’ will hit theaters by Paramount Pictures on December 20, 2024.
