The first trailer for Sony’s ‘Kraven the Hunter‘ has been screened during CinemaCon 2023. During the presentation at the Colosseum Theater at Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino, Sony announced that the film will be R-rated: “F*** yeah, it will be rated R.” The first R-rated Marvel film that Sony is producing features a lot of blood in the new trailer.
The trailer begins with Kraven (played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson) stopping some Australian poachers/mercenaries in the forest. while Kraven kills everyone like hunting animals using his weapons and hands. Also, he bites a poacher and spits out part of his skin towards the camera, crawls around walls, and pounces on foes like an animal. Kraven’s father (played by Russell Crowe) is trying to teach him to respect the world around him, and it also features a young Kraven feeling the spirit of a dead cow. Crowe says, “We are predators.” It also shows Ariana DeBose, who plays Calypso, telling Kraven, “You’re a goddamn lunatic!”
The Rhino Appears In The Kraven the Hunter Trailer
At the end of the Kraven the Hunter trailer, The Rhino is shown, and there is a battle between Kraven and Rhino. The Rhino says, “Don’t you want to know why they call me The Rhino?”
Variety reported that Taylor-Johnson called the J.C. Chandor-directed film “a Marvel movie grounded heavily in the real world. We know he is a fierce hunter, a highly trained killer.” He revealed that the film was rated R before the first trailer screening.
Kraven the Hunter is directed by J. C. Chandor from a screenplay by Art Marcum & Matt Holloway, and Richard Wenk. Produced by Columbia Pictures in association with Marvel. Distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing, Kraven the Hunter is the fourth film in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU). The film will hit theaters on October 6, 2023.
