‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse‘ is getting spoiler alerts before its release. Producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller have confirmed that the script includes multiple variants of Gwen Stacy.
Speaking to the Crew Call with Anthony D’Alessandro podcast, producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller revealed that there will be multiversal variants of Gwen Stacy in Beyond the Spider-Verse.
When asked about the multiversal variants of Gwen Stacy in the future.
Lord: “Currently, yes.”
Miller: “Currently, yes. I would say that, yes.”
Lord: “It’s on the page.”
Miller: “It is… I think that that… These things evolve as they go.”
Lord: “But there’s one I’m very excited about.”
Miller: “Yes, I know exactly the one you’re talking about.”
Lord: “You know the one I’m thinking of, which is based on… I’m not gonna say anything. I’m not gonna say anything.”
Miller: “But it is sort of plot-integral, I would say.”
Hailee Steinfeld is voicing Gwen Stacy in the Spider-verse. Steinfeld recently posted photos of herself in the costume of Gwen Stacy.
Recently, the sequel to Spider-Verse, ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,’ has been released and grossed $400 million worldwide (to date). Fans are excitedly awaiting the next film, ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse,’ scheduled for release on March 29, 2024.
At the end of Across the Spider-Verse, Gwen Stacy joins Miles Morales on a multiversal journey. She encounters alternate versions of loved ones, speaks with Miles’ parents, and assembles a team of Spider-People to find and rescue him from various threats across dimensions.
According to the film’s plot:
After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. However, when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders. He must soon redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.
‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ is a highly praised film. It received an “A” rating from CinemaScore, has a 95% score on Rotten Tomatoes, and is one of the highest-rated movies on Letterboxd.
