The pop idol Taylor Swift recently had a “good” meeting with Marvel President Kevin Feige for a role in the MCU. The report comes from insider Daniel Richtman on his Patreon page.
There have always been rumors from the beginning of Marvel’s ‘Deadpool & Wolverine‘ filming that Swift is going to have a role. We currently don’t have any updates on the recent meeting between Swift and Feige. Did she sign a deal with Marvel? We’ll have to wait a little longer to find out.
Which role is Taylor Swift likely to play in the MCU?
According to reports, Swift is reportedly playing the role of The Dazzler in the MCU and will appear in the third Deadpool film, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’.
In Marvel Comics, The Dazzler was created by writer Tom DeFalco and artist John Romita Jr., and she first appeared in “Uncanny X-Men” #130 in 1980. The Dazzler’s real name is Alison Blaire. Her unique ability is the capacity to convert sound vibrations into various forms of light, essentially turning sound into energy. This power enables her to create dazzling light displays, laser-like attacks, and even generate solid light constructs. Originally introduced as a singer, The Dazzler is often depicted as a performer who incorporates her light-based powers into her stage act.
Recently, Marvel Comics announced ‘Dazzler,’ a four-issue series by writer Jason Loo and artist Rafael Loureiro. The book follows Dazzler embarking on a world tour in the wake of the fall of Krakoa, accompanied by fellow mutants Domino, Strong Guy, Multiple Man, Shark Girl, and Wind Dancer.
In a recent interview with Fandango, when asked if Swift or Blake Lively is doing a cameo in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, Ryan Reynolds replied, “There’s so much speculation about so many people that might end up in the film. I saw one that was convinced Elvis is in the movie. Anything could happen. Surprises are the essence of Deadpool.”
According to the film’s new synopsis, “Marvel Studios presents their most significant mistake to date – ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’ A listless Wade Wilson toils away in civilian life. His days as the morally flexible mercenary, Deadpool, behind him. When his homeworld faces an existential threat, Wade must reluctantly suit up again with an even more reluctantlier… reluctanter? Reluctantest? He must convince a reluctant Wolverine to-Fck. Synopses are so fcking stupid.”
Directed by Shawn Levy. In the film, Reynolds will reprise his role as Wade Wilson/Deadpool, alongside Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle, Stefan Kapičić as Piotr Rasputin/Colossus, Rob Delaney as Peter, Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Jennifer Garner as Elektra, and new additions Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen. The script is penned by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Zeb Wells, Reynolds, and Levy.
‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is scheduled to hit theaters on July 26, 2024. The tickets are on sale at Fandango, AMC, IMAX, and Cinemark. The film will be released on IMAX, RealD 3D, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, Cinemark XD, and premium screens worldwide.
