‘The Angry Birds Movie 3’ is officially in development at Sony Pictures Animation. Deadline confirmed that Part 3 will see the further adventures of Red and Chuck, voiced once again by Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso, We’re the Millers) and Josh Gad (Frozen, Beauty and the Beast, Murder on the Orient Express).
On the X platform, producer John Cohen shared the first teaser trailer and wrote, “Very excited to announce that THE ANGRY BIRDS MOVIE 3 is launching into production!” Watch the trailer below.
Directed by John Rice (Angry Birds, Beavis and ButtHead Do the Universe) from a screenplay by Thurop Van Orman (Angry Birds 2, Adventure Time, Flapjack), who will also executive produce alongside Toru Nakahara (Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic Prime, Golden Axe).
“The Angry Birds Movie 3 follows the success of the first two Angry Birds movies, which together have grossed more than a half billion around the world. Sony was the distribution partner on the first two movies.”
Produced by Cohen (Despicable Me, The Garfield Movie, Angry Birds), Dan Chuba (The Mitchells vs. the Machines), and Carla Connor. The film’s productions are Rovio Entertainment Corporation, SEGA, and Namit Malhotra’s production company Prime Focus Studios. Prime Focus Studios, Rovio, and SEGA will produce the movie in association with One Cool Group, Flywheel Media, and dentsu. The animation is handled by DNEG Animation.
‘The Angry Birds Movie 3’ release date is not yet confirmed. However, we can expect the film to be released in 2025.
