The Bear Season 2 has received a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes, earning 100% from critics. Reports say that “Season 2 is more delicious than ever.” It will have 10 episodes and will be available to watch on Hulu on June 22, 2023.
The Bear is about food, family, the insanity of the grind, the beauty of a sense of urgency, and the steep, slippery downsides. As the young chef Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) fights to transform both The Original Beef of Chicagoland and himself, he works alongside a rough-around-the-edges kitchen crew that ultimately reveals themselves as his chosen family. Created by Christopher Storer. The series also stars Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Abby Elliott. Storer executive produces alongside Joanna Calo, Josh Senior, Hiro Murai, and Nate Matteson. In season 2, Bob Odenkirk and Molly Gordon, Will Poulter will also join.
The Bear Season 2 Reviews:
According to The Daily Beast, “The Bear still feels as kinetic and stressful as its award-winning first season, and Carmy is still very much at the center. The series does itself a massive favor by shifting gears in Season 2. By giving us a break from the turbulent chaos of Carmy’s mind, The Bear cooks up one big melting pot full of new stories.”
According to IndieWire, “The Bear is a fine-dining, Michelin-level restaurant worthy of their talents. Season 2 depicts this transformation, replacing the daily grind of running an eatery with the daily grind of opening one while embracing an evolution all its own. Gone are the blunt, surrealistic additions (like dreaming up a bear or acting out a sitcom nightmare). Only what’s real remains, and what remains is stronger and richer on its own. The intensity returns before the premiere episode wraps, as “every second counts” becomes the new shop’s mantra. But the change of routine, as well as a few twists of fate.”
According to Time “The Bear isn’t just a TV show anymore; it’s a phenomenon. When the FX dramedy about an accomplished chef who takes over his family’s Chicago sandwich shop after his older brother’s suicide appeared on Hulu last year, viewers devoured it at a sparse moment on the release calendar. Restaurant workers praised its verisimilitude.”
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, “Season 2 of the Chicago-strong, darkly funny, beautifully written, and at times deeply moving “The Bear” is leaning into the next chapter of their lives with energy and passion — and in some cases, more than a little trepidation.”
According to AZ Central, “In Season 2, the show, created by Christopher Storer, goes farther afield, allowing several characters their moments. As is often the case, that’s somewhat hit-and-miss, though the acting is so… Let’s just say it, chef’s kiss, that it’s always worth watching.”
