‘The Equalizer 3‘ is now playing in theaters. The film has grossed an estimated $3.8 million from Thursday preview shows and is projected to earn $31 million at the domestic box office opening weekend.
Directed by Antoine Fuqua from a screenplay by Richard Wenk and is the third and final film in The Equalizer trilogy, based on the TV series. The film stars Denzel Washington, Dakota Fanning, David Denman, Sonia Ben Ammar, Remo Girone, Eugenio Mastrandrea, Andrea Scarduzio, and Salvatore Ruocco.
According to the film’s official plot, Since giving up his life as a government assassin, Robert McCall (Denzel Washington) has struggled to reconcile the horrific things he’s done in the past and finds a strange solace in serving justice on behalf of the oppressed. Finding himself surprisingly at home in Southern Italy, he discovers his new friends are under the control of local crime bosses. As events turn deadly, McCall knows what he has to do: become his friends’ protector by taking on the mafia.
The film is produced by Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Denzel Washington, Antoine Fuqua, Steve Tisch, Clayton Townsend, Alex Siskin, Tony Eldridge, and Michael Sloan. The executive producers include David Bloomfield, Tarak Ben Ammar, and Andy Mitchell.
