‘The Flash’ is scheduled to hit theaters on June 12, 2023. The film is tracking to earn between $115 million–$140 million during its opening weekend at the domestic box office. The Flash, directed by Andy Muschietti and written by Christina Hodson, the plot is based on the comic book storyline “Flashpoint,” and follows: Worlds collide when the Flash uses his superpowers to travel back in time to change the events of the past. However, when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, he becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation. With no other superheroes to turn to, the Flash looks to coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian—albeit not the one he’s looking for.
The budget for the film including its marketing campaign, is reported to be very expensive, estimated to be around $330 million. According to reports, Warner Bros. Pictures has a finished script for a potential sequel to the movie ‘The Flash.’ While the studio has not officially announced the sequel, the script is penned by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, who previously wrote the screenplay for ‘Aquaman‘.
The film stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash, alongside Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon, Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdú, Kiersey Clemons, Antje Traue, Ben Affleck, and Michael Keaton.
Produced by DC Studios, Double Dream, and the Disco Factory, and set for distribution by Warner Bros. Pictures.
