What is the Plot of ‘The Hill’?
The Hill is the inspiring true story of Rickey Hill (Colin Ford), the small-town son of a traveling Pastor (Dennis Quaid). With natural athletic talent, grit, and raw determination, Rickey defiantly overcomes his physical disabilities and father’s overbearing commands to never play baseball to fulfill his dream of playing in the major leagues, and ultimately transform his connection with his father. This emotionally inspiring film is perfect for all ages.
The film also stars Dennis Quaid as Pastor Hill, Joelle Carter portraying Hellen Hill, Scott Glenn as Red Murff, Bonnie Bedelia as Gram, Randy Houser as Ray Clemons, Jesse Berry as young Rickey Hill, and John Smoltz making an appearance as a baseball color commentator.
Directed by Jeff Celentano from a screenplay by Angelo Pizzo and Scott Marshall Smith. The film is about baseball player Rickey Hill overcoming a physical handicap in order to try out for a legendary major league scout. Produced by Jeff Celentano and Warren Ostergard.
