(Note: This article contains spoilers for The Idol Episode 3).
Episode 3 of ‘The Idol,’ titled “Daybreak,” is now available on HBO. This episode primarily focuses on the story of Tedros (played by Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye) taking control of Jocelyn’s (played by Lily-Rose Depp) life. Tedros has a big plan, and Jocelyn seems to be losing her sense of self as she follows Tedros’ instructions.
The episode begins with Jocelyn sleeping naked in her bed, and someone opens the window cover. Later, Jocelyn, Tedros, and Leia (played by Rachel Sennott) go shopping at Valentino. During their trip, Tedros starts kissing Jocelyn. Afterward, they continue looking for dresses, and Tedros becomes angry with a salesman who keeps watching Jocelyn. Leia senses that something is wrong but feels unable to intervene. The scene at the shop is disturbing.
Upon returning home, Jocelyn is greeted by her co-managers, Chaim (played by Hank Azaria) and Destiny (played by Da’Vine Joy Randolph), who were waiting for her. They notice Tedros and immediately get a bad feeling about him. Chaim remarks, “Our girl is in trouble.”
After that, Tedros meets Xander (played by Troye Sivan), who is Jocelyn’s creative director. Tedros tells Xander that his creative connections are not good, and Xander agrees, admitting that he was given instructions by the producers. Later, he gave Tedros a mad idea for the album cover. Later that night, Jocelyn, Leia, Tedros, his entourage, and Xander all gather for dinner. During the dinner, Jocelyn reveals some shocking incidents from her life. Tedros begins to figure out how he can manipulate Jocelyn to his advantage.
Towards the end of the episode, there are several explicit scenes, primarily of a sexual nature, but there isn’t much else significant to mention beyond that. Read the Episode 2 review.
