So, the budget for The Mandalorian & Grogu isn’t expected to exceed $120 million. This fits Disney’s plan to cut costs for movies over $250 million, but inflation may affect these numbers.
Production List has confirmed that filming for ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’ is set to begin on June 17, 2024, in Los Angeles, CA, United States. Directed by Jon Favreau, and produced by Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, and Dave Filoni.
The Plot of ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’:
In the film ‘The Mandalorian,’ a lone bounty hunter is assigned to capture Grogu, a mysterious and adorable creature. However, he forms a strong bond with Grogu and endeavors to shield him from numerous threats, delving into his changing role in a post-Empire galaxy.
Recently, Lucasfilm Chief Creative Officer Filoni shared his confidence in Jon Favreau’s creative abilities for the upcoming film. Filoni said, “I’m excited about what we’re doing right now, but the movie, I think, is going to be great. With Jon at the helm, it’s going to be fantastic, and he’s so well-studied in Star Wars, so he’s got a great shorthand, and I love collaborating with him. Just excited to talk about the future of what we’re doing.”
In an interview, Favreau said, “I have loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created” Favreau added, “The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting.”
‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’ will lead Lucasfilm’s upcoming films. Directors include Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, James Mangold, and Filoni, who’s also working on Ahsoka Season 2.
