Netflix has announced new cast members for the second season of ‘The Sandman‘. In Neil Gaiman’s iconic graphic novel, more members are joining the Endless family members Destiny, Delirium, and The Prodigal.
Created by Neil Gaiman. In Season 2, Tom Sturridge reprises his role as Lord Morpheus/Dream, Vivienne Acheampong as Lucienne, Matt Ryan as John Constantine, Kaitlyn Dever as Death, Mason Alexander Park as Desire, and Henderson Wade voices Matthew the Raven. Recently, Wil Coban, Gavin Spokes, Kayode Akinyemi, and Daniel Hoffmann-Gill were announced as new cast members. Also featuring in the upcoming season are Amber Rose Revah, Charlotte Bate, Daphne Alexander, and more.

Season 2 features new additions: Ruairi O’Connor (‘Surprised by Oxford’, ‘The Spanish Princess’) as Orpheus, Indya Moore (‘Pose’, ‘Escape Room: Tournament of Champions’) as Wanda, Ann Skelly (‘The Nevers’, ‘Kissing Candice’) as Nuala, Douglas Booth (‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’, ‘The Dirt’) as Cluracan, Freddie Fox (‘White House Farm’, ‘The Riot Club’) as Loki, Laurence O’Fuarain (‘Vikings’, ‘Rebellion’) as Thor, Clive Russell (‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Ripper Street’) as Odin, Jack Gleeson (‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Out of Her Mind’) as Puck, and Steve Coogan (‘Philomena’, ‘Stan & Ollie’) as Barnabas.
Speaking to Netflix Tudum, the showrunner Allan Heinberg said, “In the next chapter of The Sandman, the King of Dreams will come face-to-face — and go toe-to-toe — with the formidable rulers of Hell, Asgard, Faerie, and the realms beyond.”
‘The Sandman’ Season 2 Will Be Explore Greek Tragedy
In an interview with ScreenRant, the show’s director, Jamie Childs, confirmed that season 2 will explore Greek tragedy.
Childs said, “We’re doing Greek tragedy, and then we’re doing cyberpunk, and we’re doing contemporary drama, or we’re doing cat and mouse chess stuff.”
Developed and executive produced by Heinberg, David S. Goyer, and Gaiman (who created this take on the characters in his original DC Comics). Season 1 consisted of 10 episodes, debuting on August 5, 2022, with an additional episode released on August 19. Netflix then renewed the show for a second season in November 2022. Filming for Season 2 began in June 2023 but was temporarily paused after three weeks due to strikes. It resumed in November 2023.
According to What’s on Netflix, ‘The Sandman’ season 2 will consist of 12 episodes and is set to premiere in 2024.
