Neil Gaiman, creator of The Sandman, announces that Season 2 filming kicks off on November 27, 2023. After months of delay due to WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, the recent resolution opens the way for the anticipated season to start filming soon.
Gaiman confirmed on Bluesky that The Sandman Season 2 starts filming in November, with a ‘Yup!’ to a user’s question about shooting after Thanksgiving. Other Netflix shows, like Stranger Things and That ’90s Show, are also resuming production.
In Season 2, Tom Sturridge reprises his role as Lord Morpheus/Dream, Vivienne Acheampong as Lucienne, Matt Ryan as John Constantine, Kaitlyn Dever as Death, Mason Alexander Park as Desire, and Henderson Wade voices Matthew the Raven.
The Sandman Season 1 debuted on August 5, 2022, with 10 episodes and an extra one on August 19. Season 2 got the green light in November 2022. Filming for Season 2 started in June 2023 and was paused temporarily after three weeks due to strikes.

In June 2023 filming for The Sandman Season 2, set pictures revealed Death and Morpheus. Actress Indya Moore was also seen on set, but her character is still unknown.
In an interview with ScreenRant, the show’s director, Jamie Childs, confirmed that season 2 will explore Greek tragedy.
Childs said, “We’re doing Greek tragedy, and then we’re doing cyberpunk, and we’re doing contemporary drama, or we’re doing cat and mouse chess stuff.”
The Sandman Season 2, featuring Destiny, Destruction, and Delirium, arrives on Netflix in 2024.
