‘Thor 5‘ is officially in development at Marvel Studios, and Taika Waititi will not return as director, as initially rumored. The decision was influenced by the outcome of ‘Thor: Love and Thunder,’ and Marvel is currently looking for a new director to helm the film.
The last ‘Thor’ film faced criticism for cringe moments, screenplay problems, and tonal inconsistencies. Waititi, who directed ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ in 2017, couldn’t replicate the same success with the screenplay for ‘Love and Thunder.’ During an interview with Insider, Waititi revealed that he would definitely do one. He said, “Now, I don’t know what would be next. I would do one, but only if Chris Hemsworth did it.”
If production begins in late 2024, we can expect a release in 2026 for ‘Thor 5.’ This movie will be part of Marvel Phase 7 and is expected to be released before ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars.’ Marvel has temporarily halted production on major projects like ‘Deadpool 3,’ ‘Blade,’ and ‘Fantastic Four.’
Thor 5 stars Hemsworth as Thor, Brett Goldstein as Hercules, India Rose Hemsworth as Love, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Jaimie Alexander as Sif, Waititi as Korg, Russell Crowe as Zeus, Carly Rees as Miek, and Kat Dennings as Doctor Darcy Lewis.
Thor 5 focuses on Thor and Hercules battle. it will be a continuation of Thor: Love and Thunder. The mid-credit of ‘Love and Thunder’ gives a first look at Hercules, portrayed by Brett Goldstein. Zeus orders Hercules to kill Thor. In Marvel comics, One of the more recent fights between the two muscular gods didn’t take place in Thor’s series, but in Herc’s book, The Incredible Hercules. This was during the brief period when Zeus’ son took over The Incredible Hulk comic from Big Green. It’s another light-hearted story, where we saw Herc use Thor’s armor to masquerade as the Son of Odin. He even borrowed his father’s lightning bolts to sell the idea that he was now the God of Thunder. But when the real Thor found out, he dressed up as Herc, and the pair went toe-to-toe. It was “Hercuthor” vs. “Thorcules.” And it was as delightfully ridiculous as it sounded.
The release date for ‘Thor 5’ is to be announced (TBA). See more details.
