Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, starring Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt in his final mission. The trailer hints that every choice and every mission has led to this moment — The Final Reckoning. The film hits theaters on May 23, 2025. Watch the trailer below.
In the upcoming movie, Ethan and the IMF are working to stop Gabriel and the Entity before it’s too late. Full plot details have not yet been revealed.
Directed by Christopher McQuarrie and co-written by McQuarrie and Erik Jendresen, the film stars Cruise as Ethan Hunt, Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell, Henry Czerny as Eugene Kittridge, Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, Vanessa Kirby as Alanna Mitsopolis, Hayley Atwell as Grace, Esai Morales as Gabriel, Pom Klementieff as Paris, Shea Whigham as Jasper Briggs, Greg Tarzan Davis as Degas, Mariela Garriga as Marie, Rolf Saxon as William Donloe, Holt McCallany as Bernstein, Nick Offerman as Sydney, and Frederick Schmidt as Zola Mitsopolis. Additionally, Mark Gatiss and Charles Parnell return as the heads of the NSA and NRO from Dead Reckoning Part One, respectively, while Janet McTeer, Hannah Waddingham, Lucy Tulugarjuk, Katy O’Brian, Tramell Tillman, and Stephen Oyoung have been cast in undisclosed roles.

In a recent interview with Empire, McQuarrie revealed that Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning will feature stunts so intense — they’ll “melt your brain.” He said that during filming in Africa, Cruise performed a stunt more extreme than anything he had ever done before.
“There are stunts in this movie that will melt your brain,” McQuarrie said. “There would be a day in Africa — any day in Africa — where Tom would go out and do something that topped anything he had ever done before.”
