Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man 4 will introduce a new friend for Peter Parker, which means Jacob Batalon‘s Ned Leeds will not be returning in the upcoming film and is no longer part of Parker’s life.
A recent report from insider Daniel Richtman, posted on his Patreon, revealed that Spider-Man 4 will reportedly feature a new supporting cast. The film is said to present a fresh take on the character and a new direction under Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton.

Filming is scheduled to begin in June 2025 in the United Kingdom and is expected to wrap in October 2025. The script is reportedly still undergoing rewrites by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers following the weak structure of the early draft. The film now has a production budget of $200 million.
Directed by Daniel Cretton from a screenplay by McKenna and Sommers, it will be the fourth installment of the Spider-Man series.
The film will be produced by Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Mitch Bell.
Spider-Man 4 will hit in theaters on July 24, 2026.
