Euphoria season 3 is currently in development at HBO Max and filming is set to begin at the end of 2023 with the returning cast of Zendaya (Rue) alongside Hunter Schafer (Jules), Jacob Elordi (Nate), Alexa Demie (Maddy), Algee Smith (Chris), Sydney Sweeney (Cassie), Maude Apatow (Lexi), Storm Reid (Gia), Nika King (Leslie), Austin Abrams (Ethan), Colman Domingo (Ali), and newcomer Dominic Fike (Elliot).
Speaking to the awards season Q&A for Euphoria (Via THR), Zendaya said, “There was a much sadder ending to this season, and so we were thinking, ‘We can’t leave her here, she means too much to us.’” She added, “I think, collectively, as a people, we all needed a little bit of hope. We needed something to look forward to, some goodness and some joy, and trying to find that in a very painful time,” as they worked on the second season amid the pandemic.
Euphoria follows a group of high school students as they navigate a minefield of drugs, sex, identity, trauma, social media, love, and friendship in today’s increasingly unstable world.
