Netflix canceled “1899” after one season. The series debuts at #2 in Netflix’s Weekly Top 10 English series with approximately 80 million hours in just 4 days. According to show creator Baran bo Odar, “1899” will not be renewed for a second season on Netflix.

We would have loved to finish this incredible journey with a 2nd and 3rd season as we did with Dark. But sometimes things don’t turn out the way you planned. That’s life. “1899” is a German period mystery-science series created by Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar for Netflix. The synopsis reads: “When mysterious events change the course of an immigrant ship headed for New York in 1899, a mind-bending riddle unfolds for its bewildered passengers.”
