Loki Season 2 Episode 5, titled ‘Science/Fiction,’ is now streaming on Disney+.
Episode 5 begins with the explosive destruction of the Temporal Loom, leaving Loki (Tom Hiddleston) alone in the TVA. Meanwhile, his friends, including Mobius (Owen Wilson), Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino), Hunter B-15 (Wunmi Mosaku), Casey (Eugene Cordero), and Ouroboros (Ke Huy Quan), return to their original timelines and lead separate lives, while Loki grapples with uncontrollable time slips, transporting him across various timelines.
Loki discovers Ouroboros, who is now leading a life as a writer and part-time scientist, and Ouroboros provides Loki with his TemPad and a TVA book. Ouroboros recommends a method to help Loki control his time slips and navigate to his desired destination, but Loki still struggles to gain control.
Loki then assembles his team to save the TVA, but Sylvie rejects the request, urging Loki to let them live their lives. However, when Sylvie realizes that all the branches are being destroyed, she decides to reunite with Loki and their team.
When Sylvie returns, it’s too late, and the timeline with Loki, Mobius, Sylvie, B-15, Casey, and Ouroboros is on the verge of destruction. In a desperate moment, Loki realizes that he can control his time-slipping by focusing on a person, not an event. With determination, Loki declares that he can rewrite their story and successfully travels back in time to before the explosion by focusing on Ouroboros.
Episode 5, ‘Science/Fiction,’ brings hope to the TVA, setting the stage for Loki’s mission to fix the Temporal Loom. Will he save the TVA and the timelines? Find out in the final episode, airing on November 9, 2023, on Disney+.
