Jack Black wants ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2‘ to be a musical titled “Bowser’s Revenge,” which is inspired by Todd Phillips‘ ‘Joker: Folie à Deux‘.
Jack Black Finds a Title for ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2’
In an interview with Variety, Black says he wants ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2’ to be a musical.
Black said, “I think it [‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2’] should be a full musical [‘titled ‘Bowser’s Revenge.’], like what Todd Phillips is supposedly doing with ‘Joker 2’.”
Recently, Chris Pratt, who voices Mario in the film, has revealed that ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2’ is coming soon. Pratt revealed that once the WGA negotiations are done and the writers are ready, they will begin discussing what comes next for the sequel.
The film is based on the iconic Nintendo video games and follows the origin story of the brothers Mario and Luigi, Italian-American plumbers who are transported to an alternate world and become entangled in a battle between the Mushroom Kingdom, led by Princess Peach, and the Koopas, led by Bowser.

According to Universal Pictures, ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie‘ is described as a “new franchise,” indicating the possibility of a sequel.
