The first look images of Hero Fiennes Tiffin as Young Sherlock Holmes in Guy Ritchie‘s new Prime Video series ‘Young Sherlock‘ were leaked online during filming in Oxford, England, on August 23, 2024. See the images below.
On X (formerly Twitter), user @UnBoxPHD shared images from the set in Oxford. The images feature Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Zine Tseng as Princess Gulun Shou’an, Dónal Finn as James Moriarty, and Max Irons.
The show, directed by Ritchie for Prime Video, is an adaptation of Andrew Lane‘s Young Sherlock Holmes book series, which itself is a pastiche of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s original Sherlock Holmes stories. Matthew Parkhill serves as the showrunner and executive producer, alongside Ritchie and Lane. Simon Kelton of Inspirational Entertainment also executive produces, along with Ivan Atkinson, Simon Maxwell of Motive Pictures, Dhana Gilbert, Colin Wilson, and former Amazon head of series development Marc Resteghini. Harriet Creelman will co-executive produce for Motive Pictures, which is handling physical production.
As a 19-year-old at Oxford University, Sherlock Holmes is not yet the master detective he grew up to be. He is raw and unfiltered—lacking discipline. A murder at Oxford puts Holmes’s freedom at risk, and he sets out to solve his first murder mystery—one that leads him to a global-level conspiracy.
Fiennes Tiffin stars as Sherlock Holmes, Tseng as Princess Gulun Shou’an, Joseph Fiennes as Silas Holmes, Natasha McElhone as Cordelia Holmes, Finn as James Moriarty, and Colin Firth as Sir Bucephalus Hodge.
In a statement, Ritchie said, “In ‘Young Sherlock,’ we’re going to see an exhilarating new version of the detective everyone thinks they know in a way they’ve never imagined before.” Ritchie added, “We’re going to crack open this enigmatic character, find out what makes him tick, and learn how he becomes the genius we all love.”
‘Young Sherlock’ will premiere on Prime Video in 2025.
