Rachel McAdams (Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret; Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) is set to star in Sam Raimi‘s upcoming horror-thriller Send Help for 20th Century Studios.
According to Deadline, McAdams’ casting negotiations are still in the early stages. Raimi is both producing and directing the project.
What is the Plot of Send Help?
Send Help is described as a two-hander horror-thriller set on an island. The story is said to be a blend of Rob Reiner‘s Stephen King adaptation Misery and Robert Zemeckis‘ Castaway. The film is based on an original script by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift—known for their work on Baywatch.
Zainab Azizi will also serve as a producer under the Raimi Productions banner. The film is expected to have a theatrical release.
Raimi is best known for the Evil Dead franchise and the Spider-Man trilogy starring Tobey Maguire. He recently directed Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and is also in talks to direct Doctor Strange 3. As a producer, he is involved in the upcoming horror-thriller Don’t Move, set to release on Netflix on October 25.
McAdams is best known for her standout roles in films such as Mean Girls, The Notebook, About Time, Disobedience, Spotlight, Game Night, and Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret. She previously collaborated with Sam Raimi on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and most recently, she appeared as herself in FX’s Dave.
