HBO’s The Penguin show has officially concluded. The finale included an unexpected moment with Victor Aguilar (Rhenzy Feliz). Many thought Vic would appear in future The Batman spin-offs, but the character had a tragic ending.
We can expect even more ruthlessness from Oz (Colin Farrell), a villain who is entirely without mercy or emotional connection to anyone. Vic’s loyalty to Oz and what Oz ultimately did to him was cruelty at its peak. First, Vic’s family was taken by the Riddler, and then he lost everything else—his innocence, his love, and ultimately his life—to the Penguin.
What Happened to Vic at the End of The Penguin Finale?
In The Penguin finale, everything goes well for Oz as he planned. Oz really hates his family, as we know.
At the end of the episode, Vic and Oz share a peaceful moment, and Vic tells Oz that he is like family to him now. This triggers Oz, who then chokes Victor and kills him—a moment that stands as one of the most heartbreaking and tragic deaths in recent memory of the series.
The show—created by Lauren LeFranc for HBO—is based on the DC Comics character Penguin. Set one week after the events of The Batman (2022), the series explores the rise to power of Oswald “Oz” Cobb / Penguin in Gotham City’s criminal underworld.
In the show, Farrell returns as Oswald “Oz” Cobb / Penguin, Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone, Feliz as Victor Aguilar, Michael Kelly as Johnny Vitti, Shohreh Aghdashloo as Nadia Maroni, Deirdre O’Connell as Francis Cobb, Clancy Brown as Salvatore Maroni, James Madio as Milos Grapa, Scott Cohen as Luca Falcone, Michael Zegen as Alberto Falcone, Theo Rossi as Julian Rush, and Carmen Ejogo as Eve Karlo. Actors cast in undisclosed roles include François Chau, David H. Holmes, Craig Walker, Jared Abrahamson, and Mark Strong.
The Penguin is now available on HBO.
