The first look at the M3GAN sequel, M3GAN 2.0, has been revealed by Vanity Fair. In a new behind-the-scenes image, Blumhouse’s doll killer appears to be making her return. Check it out below.
According to the rumored plot, M3GAN 2.0 is said to turn the titular doll into a “babyface”—the doll is expected to try to protect Gemma and Cady from the rumored newcomer—AM3LIA.
Directed by Gerard Johnstone from a screenplay by Akela Cooper, who wrote the first film. The returning cast includes Allison Williams as Gemma, Violet McGraw as Cady, Jenna Davis as the voice of Megan, Brian Jordan Alvarez as Cole, and Jen Van Epps as Tess. Deadline confirms that newcomers Ivanna Sakhno, Timm Sharp, Aristotle Athari, and Jemaine Clement will join the ensemble.
Filming began in New Zealand on July 16 and wrapped in October 2024.
Blumhouse’s Jason Blum, James Wan, and Allison Williams serve as producers for M3GAN 2.0. The executive producers include Michael Clear and Judson Scott from Wan’s Atomic Monster banner, Ryan Turek from Blumhouse, as well as Mark Katchur, Adam Hendricks, and Greg Gilreath from Divide/Conquer.
‘M3GAN 2.0’ will hit theaters on on June 27, 2025, by Universal Pictures.
