Paul Jenkins, the creator of the Marvel character Sentry, has revealed that he has a contract with Marvel Studios to write a Sentry solo film if they decide to move forward with the project. Jenkins also served as a script supervisor for the Thunderbolts* movie.
In a podcast, Superheroes of Arabia, Jenkins said he served as a script consultant on Thunderbolts*. He also stated that he will write the Sentry movie if Marvel Studios decides to move forward with it.

Jenkins said, “It’s very cool to have my work recognized, and one thing I will say is that I have a contract, at least with Marvel, that if there’s a Sentry movie, I write it. So that’s good news. I also worked on the Thunderbolts* movie.”
He added, “I actually consulted on Thunderbolts*. I was able to give them insights into their character. It’s going to be interesting to see how it turns out. But I think some elements of it are good. As you can see from the trailer, the Sentry and the Void appear to be in Thunderbolts*.”

In the new trailer, we see the Void taking over Bob, aka Sentry, as he uses his molecule manipulation powers (which are often overlooked because he’s treated as a discount Superman by the masses). As a result, he completely flattens civilians into dust.
Directed by Jake Schreier and stars Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S. Agent, Olga Kurylenko as Antonia Dreykov/Taskmaster, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Harrison Ford as President Thaddeus Ross, Lewis Pullman as Sentry, and Geraldine Viswanathan as Erin. Laurence Fishburne and Rachel Weisz are confirmed to reprise their roles as scientist Bill Foster and spy Melina Vostakov.
Here’s the official synopsis for Thunderbolts*:
“In Thunderbolts, Marvel Studios assembles an unconventional team of antiheroes — Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster, and John Walker. After finding themselves ensnared in a death trap — set by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine — these disillusioned castoffs must embark on a dangerous mission that will force them to confront the darkest corners of their pasts. Will this dysfunctional group tear themselves apart — or find redemption and unite as something much more — before it’s too late?”
The film is produced by Kevin Feige, Brian Chapek, Matthew Jenkins, David J. Grant, and Scarlett Johansson.
Thunderbolts* will hit theaters on May 2, 2025, in IMAX, RealD 3D, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, Cinemark XD, and premium screens worldwide.
