What is the Plot of Spider-Man: Brand New Day?
Here’s the plot details Spider-Man: Brand New Day:
Following the events of Avengers: Doomsday, Peter Parker is determined to lead a normal life and focus on college, stepping back from his responsibilities as Spider-Man. However, peace is short-lived when a deadly new threat emerges, endangering his friends and forcing Peter to reconsider his promise. With stakes higher than ever, Peter reluctantly returns to his Spider-Man identity and finds himself teaming up with an unlikely ally to protect those he loves.
The title was announced during CinemaCon 2025. Destin Daniel Cretton, who is directing the movie, said that filming is scheduled to begin this summer.
Cretton said, “I’m spending my time exploring the next stage of this amazing character with a team of the most incredible artists in the world,” he hinted. “We’re all, just daily, nerding out over the suit, how to swing, how to create an event, an emotional story, and a ride that we haven’t really seen before.”
Cretton added, “I really wish I could introduce you to our entire team who are working their bloods off for this. They are incredible, and you will see their amazing work when Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits your theaters.”
Holland, who couldn’t attend CinemaCon due to filming Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey in Italy, sent a video statement. He said, “I am so sorry I can’t be with you. I am halfway around the world shooting a movie.” He added, “I know we left you with a massive cliffhanger at the end of No Way Home, so Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a fresh start. It is exactly that. That’s all I can say.”
The filming is scheduled to begin in June 2025 in the United Kingdom and is expected to wrap in October 2025. Directed by Cretton from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, it will be the fourth installment of the Spider-Man series. The film has a production budget of $200 million.
According to reports, Sadie Sink, who recently joined the cast of Spider-Man 4 in a mystery role, will have a “mysterious past.” Her character is reportedly described as a “sharp and free-spirited woman who is strong-willed, intelligent, and not easily intimidated.”
The film will be produced by Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Mitch Bell.
Spider-Man 4 will hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
