20th Century Studios has released the first trailer for Predator: Badlands, directed by Dan Trachtenberg, the filmmaker behind Prey. The tagline welcomes viewers to “a world of hurt.” Set in the future on a remote planet, the story follows a young Predator (Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi), outcast from his clan, who forms an unlikely alliance with Thia (Elle Fanning). Together, they embark on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary. Watch the trailer below.
Here’s the plot of Predator: Badlands:
Set in the future on a faraway planet, Predator: Badlands follows a young Predator (Schuster-Koloamatangi) who has been cast out by his own kind. Alone and on a dangerous path, he teams up with a human named Thia (Fanning). Together, they go on a risky journey to find the Predator’s ultimate opponent.

It is reported that Fanning’s character in Predator: Badlands is a Weyland-Yutani android — part of the corporation featured in the Alien franchise. An alien skull resembling one from Independence Day also appears, a franchise now owned by Disney.
Directed by Trachtenberg and co-written by Trachtenberg and Patrick Aison, it is the seventh film in the mainline series and the ninth in the overall Predator franchise.
Produced by John Davis and Brent O’Connor, under Davis Entertainment.
20th Century Studios will release Predator: Badlands in theaters and IMAX on November 7, 2025.
