Emily Blunt has confirmed that filming for The Devil Wears Prada 2 will begin in July 2025 in New York.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Blunt revealed that the sequel to The Devil Wears Prada will start filming next month.
In the film, Meryl Streep will return as Miranda Priestly, Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs, Blunt as Emily Charlton, and Stanley Tucci as Nigel Kipling. More cast members will be added soon.

The sequel follows Miranda Priestly (Streep) at the end of her career, facing the decline of traditional magazines. She must compete with her former assistant, Emily Charlton (Blunt), now a high-powered executive at a luxury group, for crucial advertising dollars.
David Frankel, the director of the first film, will be directing the sequel, while Aline Brosh McKenna wrote the screenplay. Wendy Finerman, producer of the original, will also produce the sequel.
During an interview with PEOPLE, Tucci opened up about his role as art director Nigel and reuniting with his former co-stars. He said, “I think we would have one of the best times ever.”
Tucci added, “If it does happen, I can only say that I’ll be happy. I’ve made many movies — I’ve probably made close to 100 movies — and I don’t even know how many television episodes, but that experience was one of the greatest I’ve ever had.”
The original film — based on Lauren Weisberger’s book of the same name — follows Andy Sachs (Hathaway), a recent college graduate eager to pursue a career in journalism. Andy ends up working as a junior assistant to Miranda Priestly (Streep), the editor-in-chief of Runway, a fictional high-fashion magazine. Throughout the movie, Andy struggles to meet the demands of her job while maintaining her relationships with her boyfriend and co-workers, Emily (Blunt) and Nigel (Tucci). The film grossed $326 million at the worldwide box office.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on May 1, 2026, which was originally the release date for Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday.
