A new leaked report from Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday reveals Robert Downey Jr.‘s Doctor Doom will use Lewis Pullman‘s Bob Reynolds/Sentry as a cosmic battery for the multiverse Incursion.
According to insider Majestic, “Internal sources claim that Doctor Doom will need Sentry to carry out his plan during the Incursion.”
In the MCU, Sentry would function as the living cosmic battery that replaces the role of Molecule Man from the comics.
Sentry’s unstable energy “half creation, half destruction” would be the only force capable of sustaining or shaping a collapsing reality.
Doom would use that power to try to survive the end of the Multiverse and set the stage for Secret Wars. He will be imprisoned in Battleworld, and freeing him will be key to the defeat of Doctor Doom.
In plot details from Avengers: Doomsday, it is reported that Pullman’s Bob cannot use his powers without the Void taking control of his body. This leaves him more fearful and insecure, even though he is currently the strongest hero or Avenger alive, and the Avengers need him for this new threat.
Sentry may have a heavy trigger in Bob that will cause the monster Void to take over, not like in Thunderbolts; we are talking about the creature Void, and Professor X (Charles Xavier) attempts to use his telepathic powers to end the Void once and for all, preventing Bob and the Void from killing all the heroes.
Directed by the Russo brothers from a screenplay by their longtime collaborator Stephen McFeely and Michael Waldron. The film features cinematography by Newton Thomas Sigel (Bohemian Rhapsody, X-Men: Days of Future Past) and production design by Kasra Farahani.
