Marvel Studios is reportedly developing Deadpool 4.
According to PUCK, Reynolds is reportedly focused on developing the next Deadpool movie amid the ongoing Baldoni–Lively It Ends With Us controversy.
Following the record-breaking success of 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine, it is also reported that Reynolds is set to reprise his role as Wade Wilson in Avengers: Doomsday, scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2026. Meanwhile, his wife, Blake Lively, remains embroiled in a legal battle with It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni, a dispute that continues to cast a shadow over Reynolds’ other projects following the recent release of text messages.

PUCK reported on an analysis of the situation, including the impact this messy legal drama is having on the respective careers of Reynolds and Lively.
In the former’s case, it is said:
Apple has been sitting on a finished Skydance movie, Mayday—a comedic survival story starring Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh—for more than a year. Sources say a release date will be announced soon. (It will go straight to streaming, likely in September.) Apple declined to comment.”
“Reynolds has other projects on the runway: He’s an executive producer and a voice in Animal Friends from Warners and Legendary, which drops in late May, and he’s in production on Eloise for Netflix.”
Last year, THR reported that Reynolds was writing a Deadpool & X-Men team-up film. The concept would pair Deadpool with three to four X-Men characters, with Deadpool appearing in a supporting role. As of now, Reynolds is reportedly not interested in a solo Deadpool movie and believes that slightly sidelining the character could open new opportunities to explore the X-Men in fresh and unexpected ways.
Speaking to THR, Reynolds said that teaming Deadpool with the X-Men and the Avengers would have unintended consequences.
Reynolds said, “His ultimate dream is to be accepted and appreciated. But he can’t be accepted.” He added, “His coping mechanism of deflecting shame through humor works only when used to pave over his many inadequacies. If and when he does become an Avenger or X-Man, we’re at the end of his journey.”
