The major full plot details for Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil starring Austin Abrams has been leaked online. The film follows Bryan, a package delivery driver, who must deliver a mysterious briefcase to Raccoon City Hospital during a deadly virus outbreak.

On X, user MAJESTIC, has shared the plot details for Cregger’s Resident Evil. Here’s it:
Bryan (Austin Abrams) is a 30-year-old package delivery driver who is working extra hours because his girlfriend Ashley is pregnant and a baby girl is on the way. He accepts a last-minute delivery that pays double. His job is to take a mysterious briefcase to Raccoon City General Hospital, which he believes contains an organ for an urgent transplant.
While driving through a snowstorm, Bryan accidentally hits a woman in a red dress standing in the middle of the road. When he tries to help her, she acts strangely and tries to bite him.
A police officer arrives and agrees to escort Bryan to the hospital, but the woman suddenly attacks the officer, causing the police car to crash.
Bryan finds the officer dead and shoots the infected woman. He then notices strange black veins on her face. His own car stops working after the incident, so Bryan has no choice but to walk toward Raccoon City, wearing the dead officer’s jacket with RCPD written on the back.
On the way, Bryan faces several infected creatures. A mutated dog bites him and infects him with the virus. At a farmhouse, he discovers a horrifying monster formed from the woman he hit and a farmer’s body fused together with tentacles.
Later, Bryan meets Max and Pauline, an Umbrella scientist. They reveal that the briefcase actually contains the only cure for the virus, not an organ. However, Max is killed by monsters, and Pauline later betrays Bryan after realizing he is infected.
Bryan finally reaches Raccoon City Hospital and gives the cure to scientists trying to copy it. But the infection spreads too far in his body, and Bryan turns into a monster before they can save him. The antidote is accidentally destroyed, leaving no cure as the city falls into chaos.
The cast includes Abrams as Bryan, a medical courier, alongside Paul Walter Hauser, Zach Cherry, Kali Reis, and Johnno Wilson.
Directed by Cregger, who co-wrote the screenplay with Shay Hatten, the film serves as the second reboot of the Resident Evil film series. It is the eighth installment overall in the franchise, which is based on the video game series by Capcom.
The film is produced by Columbia Pictures and PlayStation Productions, in association with Constantin Film and Vertigo Entertainment.
Resident Evil will hit theaters on September 18, 2026, by Sony Pictures Releasing.
