Warning: This article has major spoilers for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, Episode 4.
The new episode of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, “Gloves Off,” had an unexpected twist involving Ayelet Zurer’s Vanessa Fisk.

In this episode, Bullseye (Wilson Bethel) wants to do one good thing by killing Vanessa because he blames her for Foggy’s death. Most people think he is targeting Wilson Fisk, so Fisk sets a trap at a charity fight and sends Vanessa away. But she returns during the fight, shoots Bullseye, and he throws a glass object at her. Fisk blocks it, but a shard hits Vanessa in the head, and she starts bleeding heavily and collapses on the spot.
Although Vanessa is left in a serious, life-threatening condition, the episode does not confirm her death, which means her fate is likely left open for what happens next.
What happens if Vanessa Fisk is dead?

If Vanessa is dead, Kingpin will lose the one person who kept him calm and in control. That could be very bad for New York City and Daredevil.
Even though Wilson Fisk isn’t really calm, Vanessa is the one person who keeps him grounded. She gives him a reason to try to be better. If she is gone, especially if she is killed by a vigilante, it could push him into anger and make him very dangerous.
In a recent interview with Marvel, Bethel said he’s grateful for the care and consideration given to Bullseye in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.
Bethel said, “He has his own color palette, his own theme music, and unique sound design elements. It’s a real testament to the care put into the character. Everybody cares so much about getting the details right and fully investing in them.”
Here’s the official plot synopsis for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2:
