Tobey Maguire‘s Spider-Man and his universe are part of Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday. A codename was reportedly assigned to every secret character appearing in the movie.
According to scooper MyTimeToShineHello, Tobey Maguire’s codename on the set of Avengers: Doomsday was reportedly “Venom,” while the codename for Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine was “X-23.” Both reportedly appear in the opening scene of Doomsday and during a major fight amid the multiverse incursion.
In a recent interview with Deadline, Alan Cumming confirmed that there are still characters yet to be revealed in Avengers: Doomsday.
He said, “Sometimes there were secret names because they didn’t want to reveal that a certain character was returning, so they called them something else in the script. It was so confusing.”
As we know so far, Chris Evans’ codename on the set of Avengers: Doomsday was reportedly “Luke Cage,” while Benedict Cumberbatch reportedly filmed “pivotal, high-security scenes” under a codename for Avengers: Doomsday.
Recently, insider Daniel RPK reported that Maguire’s Spider-Man was wearing a CGI suit while filming Avengers: Doomsday and will have a short beard, similar to Ultimate Spider-Man.
Avengers: Doomsday is reportedly in the middle of a lengthy reshoot schedule spanning April through June. Multiple large-scale final battle scenes are currently being shot, with reports suggesting the production involves more than 80 actors and possibly as many as 110 performers and stunt doubles combined.
Directed by the Russo brothers from a screenplay by their longtime collaborator Stephen McFeely and Michael Waldron.
